Recent Hysterectomy?

I had surgery for a partial hysterectomy (uterus removed only)on May 3rd and I'm having problems. My doctor has given me a prescription for iron pills, but they are not letting my bowls move. I've been taking phillips capulets but they have harsh side effects. Is there anything anyone else can tell me about that won't cause me so much pain? And yes, I'm eating my vegetables.
