Gastric Byp or Lap Band?

Gastric Byp is pretty much out of my mind right now and Lap band seems to be the best route to go. But anyways now my question is for the ones who have had it done or are a doctor and can give me an answer, How long does it take to recover from the Lap Band surgery? and What exactly are you allowed to have and Not allowed to have after the Lap Band is placed?
